While the OVNI range of sailboats is now homogenous and has the same characteristics throughout the entire range with a new hull and deck design, the introduction of the Cigale 15 QR ultralight performance sailboat with a lifting keel further builds on the innovations of aluminum construction.
Adapting technologies such as 48Volt power systems and large capacity alternators through out the fleet also opens up new possibilities and practicalities both in the construction of the boats and the usability for the owner.
Alubat is also investing in new technologies, modernizing its production processes, and upgrading the shipyard facilities that have been the company’s home since 1973. The most recent upgrade was adding 500 kw solar capacity to the roof of the building, and upgrading both the electrical systems, the welding machines and woodworking equipment.
This is definitely an exciting new chapter for one of the world’s leading aluminum sailboat builders.
